Marriage, divorce, and the enigmatic realm of parenthood have woven intricate threads into the tapestry of my life. While I may not have unlocked the secret to parenthood just yet, my partner, Mike, and I have embarked on an exhilarating transcontinental move. Leaving behind the enchanting city of York in the UK, we ventured across the pond to the stunning landscapes of Vancouver, Canada. Buckle up, because this adventure is just the beginning!
My path has been anything but conventional. From crunching numbers in finance offices, where a piece of my soul seemed to fade each day, to venturing into the realm of entrepreneurship. I’ve worn multiple hats, delving into various domains. One hat led me to run a psychological therapy practice, helping individuals untangle the complexities of their minds. Another hat had me diving headfirst into the world of Virtual Reality Arcades with our own creation, Play It VR. Alas, the grand plans for Play It VR took an unexpected turn with the arrival of an uninvited guest: Covid. Despite the setback, I’ve never shied away from embracing creativity and exploring new horizons.
Speaking of which, let’s talk about my ongoing battle with weight. I’m on a mission to shed a significant 30 kilograms (or 66 pounds for my American friends). I’ve experienced triumphs and setbacks on this journey, but this year is different. Determined to conquer the dieting demons, I’m committed to consistency and achieving my goals. Fingers crossed, this time, it’s for real!
In addition to the weight loss journey, my partner and I have been on a rollercoaster ride seeking to expand our family for over four years now. As we navigate the fertility challenges, we remain hopeful, understanding that life has its own timeline. Who knows, maybe the universe is waiting for the perfect moment to bless us with the miracle of pregnancy. In the meantime, our conversations have led to amusing discussions about adopting a furry friend. After all, joy can come in many forms!
